{"id":2171,"date":"2024-06-03T23:36:18","date_gmt":"2024-06-03T23:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2171"},"modified":"2024-06-03T23:36:18","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T23:36:18","slug":"death-of-three-year-old-actor-lil-win-charged-granted-ghc50000-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2171","title":{"rendered":"Death of three-year-old: Actor Lil Win charged, granted GHC50,000 bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Asokore Mampong District Court has granted a GHC50,000 bail to Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/death-of-three-year-old-actor-lil-win-picked-up-by-police-over-fatal-accident\/\">Lil Win<\/a>\u00a0following a recent accident involving a vehicle he was driving that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.<\/p>\n<p>He is to provide two justified sureties as part of his bail conditions, the court ordered.<\/p>\n<p>Lil Win, 37, has been charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday (25 May).<\/p>\n<p>His plea was however not taken when he made his first appearance at the Asokore Mampong Court on Monday (3 June). He was seen wearing a neck brace and a gauze around his forehead while being aided to walk.<\/p>\n<p>The actor\u2019s lawyer Margaret Adjei-Twum made a strong case for his freedom citing his health status adding that his client has \u201ccome under intense police and press scrutiny\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven as we speak, we have a number of pressmen in this court\u201d, she told the presiding judge H\/W Samuel Buabin Quansah while praying for bail for her client. The prosecution did not oppose this request.<\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"stream-item-size\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The court consequently granted the request and adjourned the case to 27 June.<\/p>\n<p>The actor was earlier arrested on Monday (3 June), shortly after being discharged from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/healkomfoanokye-otumfuo-launches-us10-million-drive-to-transform-kaths-gee-blocks\/\">Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital<\/a>\u00a0(KATH) and detained at the Manhyia Divisional Police Command.
