{"id":2216,"date":"2024-06-19T22:43:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-19T22:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2216"},"modified":"2024-06-19T22:43:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-19T22:43:48","slug":"nib-survey-napo-is-most-preferred-running-mate-to-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2216","title":{"rendered":"NIB survey: Napo is most preferred running mate to Bawumia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new survey by the National Investigations Bureau (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/nib-deputy-managing-director-takes-over-as-new-md\/\">NIB<\/a>) has said Energy Minister\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/opoku-prempeh-is-bawumias-top-choice-for-running-mate-position-says-dr-asah-asante\/\">Dr Matthew Opoku-Prempeh<\/a>\u00a0also known as Napo is widely preferred among party members as running mate to 2024 Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mahamudu Bawumia.<\/p>\n<p>The NIB survey sampled views from 5,116 NPP\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/patricia-appiagyei-to-asokwa-npp-delegates-its-time-to-come-together-and-break-the-8\/\">delegates<\/a>\u00a0nationwide, including national, regional, constituency and polling station executives.<\/p>\n<p>According to the survey,\u00a0 Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh secured 76.2% of the responses from executives polled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, commonly known as Napo, who currently serves as the Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, secured 76.2% of the responses from executives polled, making him the leading candidate for the position of running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP\u2019s presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing him is Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education and MP for the Bosomtwe constituency, who garnered 10.1% of the responses from the polled executives. Other notable personalities the delegates consider as potential running mates include Apostle Opoku Onyinah, former chairman of the Pentecost Church of Ghana, and Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Agriculture and MP for Abetifi,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Below is a copy of the survey:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><iframe id=\"doc_95255\" class=\"scribd_iframe_embed\" title=\"Survey on Npp Running Mate-1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/embeds\/743498117\/content?start_page=1&amp;view_mode=scroll&amp;access_key=key-zQVphyDXUBcawkJhNTAe\" width=\"100%\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" data-auto-height=\"false\" data-aspect-ratio=\"1.414442700156986\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"stream-item-size\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh emerged as the most preferred choice, especially among constituency and polling station executives, who constituted the largest segment of the sample, corresponding to 36.2% and 32.6%, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>A significant majority of respondents, approximately 84%, view Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as<br \/>\nthe ideal running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia due to his charisma and popularity among<br \/>\nparty members.<\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"stream-item-size\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>About 88% believe he is the party\u2019s choice to pair with Dr Bawumia. Moreover, 94% of respondents said the running mate nominee should be male.
