{"id":2569,"date":"2024-08-02T05:13:48","date_gmt":"2024-08-02T05:13:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2569"},"modified":"2024-08-02T05:13:48","modified_gmt":"2024-08-02T05:13:48","slug":"akufo-addo-denies-agyapade%c9%9b-document-labels-it-as-political-misinformation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2569","title":{"rendered":"Akufo-Addo denies Agyapade\u025b document, labels it as \u201cpolitical misinformation\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">President\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/akufo-addo-launches-aquaculture-for-food-and-jobs-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0has strongly refuted the authenticity of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/opinion-ndc-is-behind-the-agyapade%c9%9b-book\/\"><em>Agyapade\u025b<\/em><\/a>, the so-called\u00a0 tribal and family manifesto<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, labelling it as a fabricated piece of misinformation intended to damage his political reputation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Speaking at the Ghana Report Summit on Thursday (1 August 2024), President Akufo-Addo highlighted the threat\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">that false information poses<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0to democratic processes, especially in the lead-up to national elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Ghana Report Summit took place under the theme \u201cDealing with Misinformation and Disinformation \u2013 Election 2024\u201d.<\/span><span id=\"more-222224\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Allegations in \u201cAgyapade\u025b\u201d<\/h4>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The controversial \u201c<em>Agyapade\u025b<\/em>\u201d purports to reveal a grand scheme by a group within the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.asaaseradio.com\/npp32-seven-things-you-probably-didnt-know-about-ghanas-ruling-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">New Patriotic Party<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0(NPP) to annex state assets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The document has been in circulation in both old and social media.
