{"id":2798,"date":"2024-08-30T04:16:07","date_gmt":"2024-08-30T04:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2798"},"modified":"2024-08-30T04:16:07","modified_gmt":"2024-08-30T04:16:07","slug":"i-will-dismantle-ministry-of-information-if-elected-alan-kyerematen-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ghnewsbay.com\/?p=2798","title":{"rendered":"I will dismantle Ministry of Information if elected \u2013 Alan Kyerematen says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The leader of the Movement for Change, Mr Alan Kyerematen, has sparked a fresh debate on the relevance of the Ministry of Information, pledging to dismantle the ministry if elected in Ghana\u2019s December 7 election.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the \u201cMedia Encounter with Alan Kyerematen\u201d event, the politician questioned the utility of the ministry, describing it as a \u201cwaste pipe\u201d that does not add significant value to the government\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat does the Ministry of Information do? I am not interested in a whole ministry talking about government projects,\u201d Kyerematen remarked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsk all the mature economies if they have something like this? So it\u2019s a waste pipe and it doesn\u2019t add anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Trade Minister expressed his belief that the funds currently allocated to the Ministry of Information could be better utilized in other areas, promising to repurpose these resources to support more impactful projects should he be voted into power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t need the Ministry of Information; we can save the money and use it to support other projects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry about my friends at the Ministry of Information, but I will turn you all into business people.
