Dope Nation<\/a>, Ghanaian twins turned music duo have revealed that they are working on a new sound called \u2018Ghanapiano\u2019 which they will incorporate into their music.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an appearance made on TV3 Newday with Berla Mundi hosting them, the twin brothers said they are bringing a new sound, \u2018Ghanapiano\u2019 which they already tried on their hit \u2018Gboza\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt actually started with \u2018Gboza\u2019. If you listen to it, there are elements of Hammer\u2019s tunes in there. We are trying to churn a new sound called \u2018Ghanapiano\u2019,\u201d they revealed.<\/p>\n

When asked if the revelation would not spark any form of controversy and the like, Dope Nation stated that \u201cThis is not to fight anyone\u2019s intellectual property. We are just trying to give credence to everybody and at the same time, bring a new sound.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also explained the reason why the choice of name had Ghana in it even though it has amapiano.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason why it\u2019s Ghana is that we are taking old and new sounds from the Ghanaian culture musically and we merge it on the piano. If you listen to \u2018Gboza\u2019, you\u2019ll hear these elements on the piano.; that\u2019s why we churn the name, \u2018Ghanapiano\u2019,\u201d they explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018Ghanapiano\u2019 is a fusion of the popular South African amapiano together with Ghanaian culture. Due to the huge role the South African sound plays in the turn-out of the new sound, the amazing duo learnt the craft and incorporated it into their project.<\/p>\n

They disclosed this to address everyone who is of the view that they just upped and decided to go about a new project they do not have expertise on.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t just up one day and come up with the term. We have friends who are producers in South Africa that actually opened their doors to us,\u201d they disclosed.<\/p>\n

They continued, \u201cWe saw how they made their beats, learnt their elements and decided to make this type of sound. If you realize, you can hear the amapiano instruments but it is a Ghanaian sound.\u201d<\/p>\n
