Chief Superintendent Herbert Gustave Yankson, Director in charge of the Cyber Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service has revealed that the Ghana Police service have commenced investigations into the videoing of late Ebony Reigns and her friend by mortuary attendants and will bring them to book. It is a crime. Section 281 of the Criminal Offenses Act talks about offence related to obscenity and so far as you are showing the nude pictures of somebody, it is related to obscenity and it’s a crime and there is the need for us to take action,” he told listeners of Hitz FM in Accra.
Chief Superintendent Yankson also said that he has “been instructed to commence investigations into the matter
“The law particularly says that even if you have in your possession, distributing it, those circulating it; that circulation, it is also an offence and they could be brought to book,” he stressed.
Ebonywho died in a motor accident at Sunyani-Kumasi road with two others after paying a visit to her mother who returned from the United Kingdom.
Ebony is plan to be buried on 17th March, 2018 while her good friend Franky Kuri will be buried on March 3rd this year. The Military, having concluded all investigations on Airman Lance Corporal Francis Atsu Vondee, the family will bury their son on March 23rd, 2018.
