Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed concern about the quality of the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium ahead of Thursday’s 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Angola.
Ghana begins its campaign in the 2025 Morocco tournament on 5 September in Kumasi before a trip to Berkane, Morocco to face Niger four days later.
Authorities have already assured the public that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium will be ready to host the game.
During a press conference on Thursday, 29 August, Otto Addo said he was worried about the pitch at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Addo highlighted that a well-maintained pitch is essential for his players to perform at their optimum level.
“It is worrying because, to play the way we intend, a good pitch is necessary. Discussions are ongoing about how we can improve the situation. We want our players to excel, which means we must ensure the pitch is in the best possible condition,” he remarked.
