Adane Best: Black Sherif drew inspiration from me

 Black Sherif

Veteran highlife musician, Joseph Amoah, also known as Adane Best, has said Ghanaian rapper and singer Black Sherif drew inspiration from him as a musician.

Black Sherif is famously known in Ghana as the most talented musician at a very young age. He rose to fame with his hit song titled ‘Money’.

He won the Artiste of the Year award at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in May this year after beating contenders such as Sarkodie, Camidoh, King Promise and Piesie Esther to win the ultimate prize.

Appearing on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Wednesday (6 December), Adane Best said he drew inspiration from the likes of Salif Keita.

“When you hear me singing, you may think maybe I am crying, but I am not crying,” Adane Best said. “I took inspiration from Salif Keita… etc. I took inspiration from them but I didn’t copy them.”

“My junior brother Blacko (Black Sherif) took inspiration from me. He is not copying me, he has got his own style, he took inspiration from me, that is why he is destroying things like that,” he said.
