John Mahama said he will terminate luxury vehicles tax.

The former President and presidential candidate of National Democratic Congress {NDC} John Dramani Mahama was on Thursday announce that  he will abolish luxury vehicle tax introduced by government to tax vehicle with bigger engine capacities. The tax affects all vehicle which include commercial vehicles, farm tractors, pick up vehicles and others.
With many complaining of the impact of the tax on their operations, especially commercial drivers and small business owners who use pick-up vehicles, Mahama said the next NDC administration will scrap the tax if the current government does not abolish it before 2020 election.
Speaking to executives and drivers of the Neoplan station local GPRTU in Accra Mahama said that the new tax itself is not generating enough revenue and wonder why government would not scrap it.
The NDC Leader was on a pre-Easter tour of selected lorry parks to advocate for an accident-free Easter, advising the drivers to take greater responsibility for the safe arrival of their passengers and themselves at their destinations. Also at the Kaneshie lorry park, He promised the local GPRTU executive that his government will work with them to construct a modern bus terminal.
